BATMAN / GOTHAM CITY - BATMAN ‘My pencil hovered over ten foot of glass and I thought shit this is it, this has to become my Gotham City..’ Warner Brothers wanted to know how Gotham City would look like at night. They also wanted a 100 foot painting of Gotham. They gave me three days. I could hardly walk afterwards. I breathed gothic for six months. I loved the misty Pinewood mornings, the six story high Gotham street sets, and watching the late Anton Furst and Tim Burton creeping around in their black jackets, black jeans, black boots, and black shaggy hair like two Gotham creatures. JP Trevor’s GOTHAM CITY: Ten feet long / painted on glass / oils on sprayed white base / scalpel around buildings to reveal clear glass for a ‘’moving plate’.
